When you joined the credit union, it was because of your or someone else’s employment with your electric power association. A current employee of each co-op, who has signed a confidentiality agreement, has been designated as loan officer to conduct share and loan requests on your behalf, Nonpublic information is being shared with them only for those everyday credit union transactions.

What we do
How does ECM Federal Credit Union protect my personal information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards, firewalls, secured files and buildings. Periodic testing of the information security systems, training of employees and adopting upgrades and enhancements are necessary to protect your information.
How does ECM Federal Credit Union collect my personal information? We collect your personal information, for example, when you
  • open an account or deposit money
  • apply for a loan or use your credit card
  • request a wire transfer
Why can't I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only
  • sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State law and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.
Definitions
Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.
  • ECM Federal Credit Union has no affiliates.
Nonaffiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.
  • ECM Federal Credit Union does not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.
Joint marketing A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
  • ECM Federal Credit Union does not jointly market.

You can help protect your personal information.  (1) Do not give anyone your pin, password or accounts numbers for any of your financial accounts. (2) Do not have your social security printed on your checks. (3) Always shred your personal documents that contain your personal or financial information. (4) Never respond to an email, phone call, or text asking you to verify your personal information.  ECM Federal Credit Union will never send you an email or text message asking you to verify account numbers, social security numbers, passwords, PIN numbers, etc. (5) Always keep your personal information in a safe secure place.
